I was just chatting with my buddies a few days ago about all the recent tragedy we have seen lately. Boston, Sandy Hook, the Oklahoma hurricane…it seems as though there are fewer and fewer things in the news and in the paper that are anything but devastation and heartbreak.
With those tragedies we also saw the incredible courage of folks that can’t be described as anything but heroic! Even in those sad times, we saw courage, tenacity and communities coming together to help each other. While we can get caught up the the sadness, as a mom, one of my jobs is to also find the positive things that are out there. The small things to celebrate and appreciate.
Allstate Good Life is new and different outlook for an insurance company. It has a voice of optimism and celebration vs. fear. The Allstate brand commercial tells the story of how there are risks everywhere, but we as people don’t let it hold us back from making our lives good. Allstate is an insurance company who works everyday to help build more good in the lives of their customers.
Allstate wants to focus on the good parts. Not the bad. Isn’t that a great idea? I know I would be happy seeing more happy things on the news and in the papers.
Jake, my oldest had his 1st grade award ceremony yesterday. I was so proud to see him there! He is getting so big. My 5 year old, Jeb, thought it would be cute to start participating in the ceremony. I just had to smile 🙂 Instead of flipping out that he was going to spoil the ceremony, I was delighted to hear him joining in the fun. It was only a few years ago, we wondered if he would ever talk. We seem to be always in a rush and we all need to start looking at the Good Life! Point of reference is important…sometimes we just have to look at things in a positive point of view.
Our kids look to us for love, guidance, and support. The negative doesn’t have to take over our lives, we can show our kids all the things out in the world that are good and positive. The things that make us smile!
Take a moment to think about a Good Life story…Maybe something that made you smile, something that you did together that made your family stronger. I would love it if you shared it in the comments!
