CVScard CVS Extra Care Program To Change??My reader Fara emailed me to let me know that while listening to NPR this morning she heard that the CVS Extra Care System would be changing so that you would no longer be required to keep track of paper ECBs!!  How great would that be??

I did a little digging and came across THIS article from the LA Times…I am so ready for a change!!

Thanks so much Fara!!

I actually just got a survey about this same topic yesterday in which I earned 10ECB’s.

This would be totally awesome!! Are you paying attention Walgreens?? One more reason to shop at CVS instead of Walgreens.

After I had to stand at a Walgreen’s counter for 45 (yes, 45!) minutes trying to get the register to take my RR and coupons, I said NO MORE. I went to CVS, got nearly $20 in ECB’s my first trip and haven’t been back to Wags since. I loves me some CVS!

I have always loved CVS way more than Walgreen’s! You don’t have to worry about filler items and they never give me a problem with coupons lke they do at Walgreen’s! I love CVS!

That’s so great! I am with everyone else that it is SO annoying getting hassled on my coupons and having to purchase stupid jello every week that I don’t need! Wags DOES need to take a lesson from CVS.

I just started CVS’ing and LOVE it so far! The other day my coupons were causing problems and instead of being all pissy (which is typical at Walgreens cashier’s) they did their best to fix it for me – and did :) I just hope that the new system (and them having to spend more to implemend it – does not mean less deals). KWIM? I personally think the limits and being able to track it on your card is a good idea. I know some of you wouldn’t agree – but that helps to keep things in stock for everyone to save money. There is nothing more frustrating then planning a shopping trip, just for the store to be out of half of everything you need.

I don’t do the Walgreens Rewards System because I tried it once and they treat them like manufacturer coupons and would only take one at a time per item (such BS). anyways, I do think Walgreens has great clearance items they mark down. (I got gravy for .20 cents the other day, coloring books for .19, and childrens organic cough medicine for 1.24). BUT – You need to make sure your items scan for the clearance price at Walgreens, becuase my cashier had to plug nearly everything in because it wasn’t scanning right. :(

I know I’m in the minority, but I have reservations about
this. I feel like I will lose control over when and on what,
they are being used. If they are applied to my next purchase,
it may be harder to roll them over.Changes like this are
    seldom good, in my opinion.

I’m with Elaine. I like to see the expiration dates to see when I need to roll the ECBs by. Also I get $5 off $15-30 purchases that I can then use as a competitor coupon at publix. Coupons on the card won’t work for that! Boo!

No more printable cvs $5 off $15-30 purchase coupons to be used at publix? That would hurt!
