You’re right…I ran out today after seeing this and there were only 5 bottles left on the shelf! I had 2 coupons, so I got 4 of them. They are NOT going last long!!
Luckily, they had 3 bottles left at my store, so I got 2!!!Yay, they also had revlon makeup $3 off of 4.99-13.99, and I had my $2 Q so I snagged some free eye shadow!!! Loves it!!!
Is this ‘Mega Saver Sale’ advertised anywhere? I’d like to know if mine is participating. I see the 3in1 sheets on sale and RR, but not the liquid like you show in the picture. =) Thanks!
I went to my Wags and had a horrible experience! First, they rang up my 8 bottles of Purex. When he gave me the total due, I gave him my 4 bogo qs. He said, “I can only take one of these bc we don’t stack coupons.” I said “It’s not stacking bc these are mq’s and I have one for each item purchased.” He told me he couldn’t do it. So I asked him to take 6 bottles off and I’d only get 2. When he did that, the total due he told me was $3.51!!! He said since they are bogo, I have to pay 1/2 price. Needless to say, I left everything there and left. They will be getting an email from me.
So, those of you who got the deal, you’re so lucky!!!!!!
Mine on Johns Is, SC won’t do it~said you cannot use qs on that deal…what was I to say?
i didn’t see this deal advertised….is it in the flier and i just missed it, or is it posted only in the store? i, too, only saw the dryer sheets listed as bogo.
I did not see it in the sale flyer either, nor was it posted in the store anywhere. I just asked them to scan 2 bottles to see if it came up BOGO. It did, so then I asked about the coupons…they said no problem and I got all 4 bottles free. The cashier asked how I knew about the sale and I just said “a little birdie told me!” LOL
JBC – there is NO reason to refuse coupons, especially ones from the paper. I know it’s frustrating but these ignorant cashiers need to be set straight. I would’ve asked for a manager at the very least. You can always call corporate if you don’t get results from a manager, too. I know it sounds harsh, but if the problem isn’t correct than they will continue to be a disservice to their customers and keep you from getting deals that you should be able to get.
Meghan – They’re basically treating the items as if they are each half price (which has the same final total); therefore, when you use a BOGO coupon you get one item free and still pay half price for the other. Some states do this and I think it’s misleading. If it’s half price, advertise as half price not B1G1 FREE.
My store had tons of these. I ordered 20 q’s off of Ebay. Hopefully they’ll still be there when my q’s arrive. I only had 1 q and the cashier told me he couldn’t take it since it was already on sale. After
My store had tons of these. I ordered 20 q’s off of Ebay. Hopefully they’ll still be there when my q’s arrive. I only had 1 q and the cashier told me he couldn’t take it, since it was already on sale. After I explained to him how it works, he took it.
Just explain to the cashier that normally you would pay for one and the manufacturer would pay for the other. And by it being on sale the manufacturer pays the full amount and you’re paying the tax. Either way ( b0g0 or not ) the manufacturer is reimbursing them the $5.99 plus a handling fee.
Yesterday I had a cashier at Rite Aid refuse to take a free item q on Kashi cereal that was b1g1f. I tried explaining to her that instead of getting 1 free, I’ll get 2. She said she couldn’t do it because the item was on already on sale. ( LOL ) She told me to come back next week when the item goes off sale. ( LOL ) I asked to speak to a manager, but there wasn’t one on duty. I’m going back up there today and I’m going to let them know I’m not happy about having to drive all the way back over there. I’m also going to send corporate an e-mail.
I couldn’t even find the q. We must not have it here in New England or at least not in my area. Bummer!
I didn’t get the coupon in GA either.
I went to my favorite Walgreens today to try the deal. They were clearly marked BOGO and were on the front (big) display. (They had about 100 bottles.) I asked my favorite cashier if I could buy 2 and get both free or if I had to buy 4 and get 3 free. She said we would try it and if the copuon went through after ringing 2, then I got them all for free. Of course it worked, so I used all 4 of my coupons and got 8 Purex detergents for tax- $1.68. Then she said, “Oh God, I hope everyone doesn’t find out about this deal. It’ll be CRAZY in here!” Oh how I love that Walgreens.
I just got mine
They had a huge, completely full display as you walked through the door with B1G1 balloons tied to the shelf. The cashier wasn’t comfortable with taking a bogo coupon on a bogo sale so she called the manager. He okay’d it with no hesitation. Too bad I only had 1 coupon!
I just got my 4 bottles!!! My cashier did not hesitate at all to take my Qs. This makes me <3 Wags a little more
I just went today and they had no problem with it – I paid $.51 for 2 bottles (the tax). Unfortunately, there were only two bottles so I could not use the rest of my coupons. Hoping they will get some more in before the sale ends
I got 8 in Orlando… The cashier said no but I asked a manager and he did it without issue..
I got four bottles at my store today, but the cashier denied my BOGO coupons. He said that I can’t get four Purex bottles for free. Should I e-mail Walgreens? I have never had an issue using a BOGO q on a BOGO sale…Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
see what I foumd out below your comment – my name is szivi (hungarian honey (-:
Our Walgreens did not have this deal going on so I took my coupon to Target and paid $2.50 a bottle instead. Still a great deal!
Reading all the good experiences from you guys I have to tell I am jelaous. I ordered my coupons from Ebay, got them last night so I was exited to hit Walgreens with my coupons this morning. Not too long I was so happy. The cashier threw a fit over the coupon, she said she could not take it since I was getting the item BOGO already. I said, let’s talk to the manager. The manager told me that same, he said he could not honor the coupon and pretty much started to take the bottles back to the store from my cart ( I was going to buy 4 of them). I told him whatever you guys said in your comments when you had the same issues but no matter what, he refused to take the coupons. He said I can call corporate and if I give him a name that said the coupon must be taken then go back to his store and talk to him again. HELP!
I e-mailed WAGS corporate yesterday since I foresaw this problem but I have not received the official answer yet. I need to act quickly, the coupon expires on the 6th so any help would be really appreciated from you guys!!!!
All right, I am back with some answers. I called WAG corporate and talked to 2 different customer service rep and both said the same: it is up to the store manager to take the coupon or not if the item is already on BOGO and I have a manufacturer’s BOGO as well. So I guess we need to look for the friendly Walgreens managers then.
Szivi- Unfortunately, you’re right, it’s up to each manager to decide whether they’d take BOGO coupons on a BOGO sale. I had one store that honored my BOGO coupons no problem. The other two stores I went to would allow me to get four bottles and use one coupon thus paying 5.99 + tax for 4 bottles. I didn’t think that was as good as free so I explained to the manager that both Rite Aid and CVS have a CORPORATE policy to allow BOGO coupons with BOGO sales and that I’d ask that the Walgreens manager reconsider not taking my coupons because they would lose out on $18 (I was getting 6 bottles- 3 coupons) if they didn’t want to take my coupons. They went ahead and let me use my coupons to get all for only the tax.
I heard BOGO coupons on BOGO sales explained like this once and I thought it made sense: during the BOGO sale, Walgreens expects that if a customer takes home 2 bottles of Purex, they will give one to the customer free and get some sort of reimbursement for the other. When Purex puts out a BOGO coupon, they expect to pay for one bottle for every two you take home. Makes sense to me! Good luck to all.
